National Employment Network Association
The National Employment Network Association (NENA) serves Employment Networks (ENs) who operate under the Ticket to Work and Self-Sufficiency program based in the Social Security Administration. In the Ticket Program, ENs help Social Security disability beneficiaries achieve employment and self-support. The Ticket Program relies on a public-private partnership among Social Security, State Vocational Rehabilitation agencies and ENs to serve disability beneficiaries. NENA works with ENs, State VR agencies, beneficiaries, WIPA contractors and all other appropriate stakeholders to help build the Ticket Program's public-private partnership.
Recognizing that most ENs had not found the Ticket Program easy or profitable, NENA has provided services free of charge to interested parties, primarily ENs. Those services have included Ticket news and EN best practices by email, national teleconferences, a website, and advocacy with the Social Security Administration. Click here to send an email to request to be added to NENA's email distribution list.
The new Ticket Program rules and related SSA efforts have stimulated steady growth in the number of ENs, their level of activity, and their need for support services. NENA will continue to provide some services free of charge, and is now developing an extended suite of services for dues-paying members.
