Remote Pharmaceutical Assistance Program
In response to the identified community need for healthcare professionals in rural areas, The Nebraska Medical Center developed the Remote Pharmaceutical Assistance Program. The service allows for patients being treated at rural and critical access hospitals to have access to the same level of pharmaceutical expertise and care available to patients at The Nebraska Medical Center via telephone and the Internet. A dedicated staff of pharmacists reviews medication orders to check for safety, allergies, and drug interactions, verifies correct dosages and gives advice on proper administration of lifesaving medications. Last year the hospital provided $1,136,757 in program benefit as part of this program. To learn more about the program, call 1-800-922-0000 and ask to be transferred to Remote Pharmaceutical Care. You will be put in touch with Lori Murante to address questions.
